A shopping mall in North Carolina was placed on lockdown Saturday afternoon, following multiple reports of shooting on social media.1gunRaleigh police have confirmed the shooting and say they are working to secure the situation, according to WRAL.  The identity of motive of the shooter is not yet known, nor if there have been any fatalities.

Witness Tony Rice tweeted: “Panic at Crabtree valley mall as crowds run for the doors. I’m locked in @thinkgeek hunkered down with my family.”

Police were called to the mall at about 2:45 p.m. They say no one is allowed in or out of the mall. No suspects have been arrested. A video posted on Twitter by an eyewitness shows panicked scenes as people rushed out of the store.

There is a large police presence at the mall and near-by roads have been closed.
