Former prison guard turned pop star has chosen an equally starry name for her brand new baby, but insists that’s not why she picked the name.
37 year-old Sam Bailey, who won ITV’s singing competition last year told Hello magazine that she had always wanted three children, but until she found singing success, had not been able to afford another baby and was “resigned to the fact” that she and her husband would just have two.
However, she said after she won the X Factor: “Then next thing you know I find out I’m pregnant and I was like, ‘Yes. I’m finally going to get my wish’.”
Sam has given birth to a baby daughter, a sister for nine year-old daughter Brooke and son, Tommy, aged five.
Her latest addition was born three weeks early on 10th September after a fraught few weeks where doctors told her the little girl might arrive even earlier and be premature. However, the girl is the fighting fit and Sam and her husband Craig Pearson are delighted with their bundle of joy.
They have named their little daughter Miley, but Sam says it’s just because she loves the name and that she has not named her baby after Miley Cyrus: “I just really like the name.”
As well as her famous mum, Miley Beau Pearson also boasts another claim to fame – her godmother will be Sharon Osborne. Sam is thrilled Sharon has agreed: “Never in a million years did I imagine I’d be having a baby whose godmother is Sharon Osbourne.”
