Honey G is never far from headline-grabbing controversy. But X Factor’s controversial rapper may have surpassed herself with her latest gaffe – which saw her beg for votes during the two-minute silence to mark Remembrance Day, no less.
The wannabe star, 36, was caught hustling for support on Sunday morning while the rest of the UK was honouring the millions of UK men and women who have fallen in battle. At 11.01am – sixty seconds into the annual silence – she posted a message which said: “Get voting for Honey G to go all the way through to the X Factor final”.
Moments later, the tweet was swiftly deleted – presumably because she realised her painfully insensitive error.
One viewer posted: “Tweeting during the 2 minutes silence, how sick can you be. These men and women fought for the country and all you want is for people to vote for you when you don’t even deserve it. But all you do is say “Honey G” right, can’t even be silent to respect your country. You disgust me , you don’t deserve to be on x factor , or in this country.”
