One of the singers who touched hearts last weekend is being investigated for possession of Class A drugs.
Orla Keogh, the songstress with the sky-blue hair, was arrested in Ibiza while she was working as a holiday rep. According to the Sun, just months before her X Factor audition, Orla had a stash of drugs confiscated when she was arrested, including 21 ecstasy pills, ten tablets of LSD and another unknown substance said to induce mysterious hallucinations. Spanish police are reportedly still investigating the case and if Orla is convicted she could face prison time in Spain – possibly up to six years.
Orla was booted off the TV talent show at the weekend, but remains popular with fans who want her to return as a wildcard singer. During the Six Chair Challenge, Cheryl chose to kick her off and take Chloe-Jasmine Whichello to Judges’ Houses instead.
A spokesman for ITV said: “We were not aware of Orla’s alleged arrest. The X Factor has a system in place to complete criminal and welfare checks for every contestant from the Bootcamp stage of the competition onwards.
“We do criminal records checks which cover the whole of the UK. Contestants are also asked to disclose any arrests or convictions during the audition process and at no point did Orla inform the production team of anything.”
