A 70-year-old woman lost her life after she was hit by a bus at a pedestrian crossing in Edinburgh. Emergency services rushed to the horror collision involving a Lothian Bus at around 9.30am in Davidson’s Mains. One onlooker claims a female was dragged under the bus.
Firefighters worked to free her but police later confirmed she was pronounced dead at the scene and an investigation was underway. The onlooker who asked not to be named said “I was walking down the road to my work when I saw a female fall under the bus. At first I couldn’t believe what I was seeing, it was totally awful … It was just such a horrible thing to witness.”
Inspector Stuart Mitchell of Drylaw Police Station said: “Our thoughts are with the woman’s family at this very difficult time and we continue to offer them support. Our enquiries into this collision are ongoing and we’d ask anyone who can help to come forward.”
