A little girl has been left fighting for her life after being mauled by a dog in a children’s play park. The horrifying attack took place in the Jenkins Dale area of Chatham in Kent this evening. The victim is reportedly a girl aged one to two-years-old who was attacked by a pitbull-type dog.
She was taken to hospital in London in a critical condition. Firearms police rushed to the scene and shot the dog dead. People living nearby hearing the sound of gunshots and then seeing a child being carried under a blanket to an ambulance. Two people are in custody after being arrested in connection with the attack.
An onlooker told The Sun: “The baby’s head was being shaken in the dog’s mouth and it was covered in blood. It was the other children in the playground that managed to prise it from the dog. It was absolutely horrific and there were children covered in blood who witnessed it all.”
