Twin Peaks star and Kill Bill II actor Michael Parks has died aged 77. His close friend Kevin Smith announced the death of the actor on social media today.
He leaves behind one son and his wife Oriana – the cause of his death has not been confirmed. He played French-Canadian drug runner Jean Renault in the ABC television series Twin Peaks. In the cult hit Kill Bill II he played both Texas Ranger Earl McGraw and Esteban Vihaio.
His friend Smith, who often wrote for the star, posted on Instagram an hour ago: “I hate to report that my cinematic muse #michaelparks has passed away. Michael was, and will likely forever remain, the best actor I’ve ever known.” Tributes poured in as the news of his death broke as film lovers spoke of his talent and memorable roles. One person wrote: “Thanks @ThatKevinSmith for giving us the wonder #michaelparks performances. He was amazing and truly a gift.”
