Charlotte Church has announced on Twitter that she has lost her unborn baby. The singer said that she and her partner Jonathan Powell were grieving together as a family. She wrote: “Charlotte and Jonny are very sad to announce that they lost their baby. Now is a time for grieving and being together as a family. We kindly ask everyone to respect that peace.”

Last month, Church revealed on stage that she was expecting her third child. The baby was thought to have been due in November. Church, 31, has two other children from her previous relationship with Gavin Henson: nine-year-old Ruby and eight-year-old Dexter.

The news was met with a wave of supportive messages from the singer’s fans, who sent on their love to the star. “So sorry, Charlotte. Holding you and Jonny and your whole family in the light,” wrote one follower, echoing the sentiments of all who have heard the news. “Oh no. I’m so sorry, Charlotte and Jonny. Sending all my love to you both. Stay strong in your family’s loving embrace,” added another fan.
