Hundreds of tributes have poured in after a talented young goalkeeper was found dead. The 22-year-old was formerly goalkeeper for Claremont FC, who are based in East Kilbride and play in the Scottish Amateur Football League.

Conor, who has a twin brother Declan, was discovered in woodland in Alloa on Monday morning. It’s understood he took his own life, the Daily Record reports. Police confirmed they were called to the scene at 7.10am on Monday. The death is not being treated as suspicious.

The Celtic fan’s sudden death stunned friends, who have donated more than £12,000 in his memory. Daryll McDougall posted: “You think you have it bad, then you hear what other people have woken up to this morning. Makes you realise no matter what you are going through, don’t take life for granted. Such a sad day. Thoughts are with the Brown family.”
