A newborn baby has died after being found lying alone outside a vicarage. The baby boy was discovered by the vicarage of St Peter’s Church in Bramley, Leeds yesterday at 9.18am.
He was taken to Leeds General Infirmary by ambulance, but was sadly pronounced dead a short while later. Police are conducting enquiries to identify the child and his mother, and are keen to hear from anyone who could assist with the investigation.
Officers are concerned for the mother’s welfare and say she may need urgent medical attention given the potential circumstances surrounding the baby’s birth.
Anyone with information or who may have seen anyone near the vicarage overnight is urged to contact police on 101.
