A teenager whose body was found in Renfrewshire has been named as 16-year-old Owen McDonald. Owen’s body was discovered on grounds nears Mains High School off Rashielee Avenue in Erskine at 5.40am on Sunday.
Police Scotland said the teenager’s relatives have been informed of his death which is being treated as unexplained. Several sources claimed an incident involving a pupil from the school and an adult had resulted in the death. Residents have reported violent confrontations between teenage boys.Some claimed one youngster was hit with a bottle when local youths were attacked by a gang from another area. One source said: “A bunch of guys have come in from Renfrew and a few youngsters have been attacked. There’s lots of speculation but all we really know is that a man or a boy has died. I’m gutted for his family. What a waste of a life.”
