Staff at an Indian restaurant were surprised to find a man hiding in a cupboard at their restaurant. When they looked further they discovered he was only wearing a tablecloth and was smeared with his own excrement.
The man, who has not been identified, is thought to be in his 20s and to have spent the entire night in the cupboard in an Indian restaurant on Church Street, Malvern, Worcestershire. When the restaurant was opened at about midday on 2nd August, he was discovered and said to be in a “confused state.” From his cupboard, the man verbally abused the staff working at the restaurant and the police were called.
The man was arrested on suspicion of using threatening verbal behaviour and causing criminal damage. He was given a Community Resolution Order, which meant that he had to apologise to the restaurant staff and clean up the mess he had left.
There are two Indian restaurants on Church Street in Malvern; however, both Anupam and Cafe Zam Zam have denied any knowledge of the bizarre incident.
