Producers on the popular talent TV show Strictly Come Dancing are livid after the results to the hotly-contested dancing competition were leaked online.
With several hours to go before the results show is aired, the details are surfacing on the internet; the results show is filmed just after the live Saturday night programme is broadcast live, but the result is supposed to be a closely-guarded secret until Sunday evening.
A show insider said: “It completely ruins the suspense of the Sunday night results show. There are serious concerns it could start to affect ratings if the leaks continue.”
Several stars, including Pixie Lott and Jake Wood, have let the result slip in the past when their tweets have revealed that they made it through to the next week before the results show had aired.
The latest leak is a headache for bosses because SCD thrashes the X Factor on Saturday night, but the results show on Sunday does not perform nearly as well.
A source at the BBC revealed that producers might change the arrangement in the future: “Strictly’s two shows are filmed on the same night to save cash. But it looks like it could be costing the show because quite a few fans aren’t tuning in because they already know the result”
