Saturday’s X Factor will see four acts who were sent home from Judges’ Houses last weekend stage a comeback to grab a spot in the live shows.
The identify of the four acts, one from each category, is supposed to be a closely-guarded secret and revealed with great fanfare on the show itself.
However, the wildcard in the Girls category, mentored by Cheryl, was given away earlier in the week when eagle-eyed fans spotted fishmonger Lola Saunders in the background of footage filmed in the X Factor house.
Another act was leaked by determined paparazzi, who spotted boy band Overload exiting the X Factor finalists’ house and getting into a car. Overload, a five-piece group, won fans’ hearts when they refused to leave the competition during the Six Chair Challenge and chose to fight for a place in the next stage of the competition by pushing Louis Walsh into giving them an opportunity in a “sing off.”
It is a first for a wildcard act to be one that didn’t get to Judges’ Houses and Overload went out at Bootcamp; however, they are popular with fans, so that makes them a savvy choice. On ITV’s Loose Women, Louis revealed that Cheryl had chosen his wildcard act and he had chosen Cheryl’s. Overload were a hit with Cheryl, so it is not surprising that she has opted to bring them back to the competition.
