Britain is set to bask in temperatures of up to 33C early next week, thanks to gusts of hot air from the continent.Some forecasters believe we could see the hottest day of the year on Tuesday, with temperatures in the low 30s in London, the Midlands, and East Anglia The plume of hot air from Spain and beyond will bring with it sticky conditions and high UV levels.
The hottest temperature of the year so far was 33.5C in July at Brize Norton. The Met Office says those temperatures could be reached again.
Monday will see highs of 28C in the south, with temperatures over the weekend staying in the mid-twenties. The Met Office said Scotland could also enjoy temperatures in the high twenties.
The hot weather will not last long though, with thunderstorms predicted on Tuesday night into Wednesday.
