A six-week-old baby girl has tragically died today after being found “unresponsive” at a flat in north London. Police have launched an urgent investigation into the tot’s death, which is being treated as unexplained.
They haven’t yet made any arrests over the shocking incident. Officers dashed to the flat in Finchley Road, Hampstead, in at least three marked patrol cars just after 8am today after being alerted by London Ambulance Service. The stricken baby was rushed to hospital but declared dead less than an hour later.
A Met Police spokesperson told the Ham & High: “Police were called by the London Ambulance Service to reports of an unresponsive baby at an address on Finchley Road, Camden, at 0822hrs on Tuesday, August 8. The child – a six-week-old baby girl – was taken to a north London hospital where she was pronounced dead at 0900hrs. A post-mortem will be arranged in due course. Enquiries continue.”
