Those tuning into The Apprentice tonight are in for a shock when one candidate announces that they are quitting the competition after just three challenges.Tonight’s task will see the two teams take over a department at luxury shopping store, Liberty of London as they continue to fight to become Lord Sugar’s business partner. They are asked to introduce a new product line to their department, which they must promote and sell as well as running a personal shopping service.
Unfortunately one team will struggle with the latter part of the challenge as they fail to confirm their client’s budget or size ahead of the appointment, which leaves the customer feeling awkward and uncomfortable.
Before the remaining contestants are told what their next task is, one hopeful will step forward and reveal that they are leaving the series as they are not enjoying it. The unknown candidate will explain: “You guys, I just have to say something. I’m going to leave the process. I’m really sorry, I’m just not enjoying it.”
The candidate’s exit just weeks in is a first for the BBC series, which last year saw hopeful Scott Saunders pull out of the show after “clashing” with Lord Sugar. But Lord Sugar doesn’t seem fazed by the contestants decision, telling them: “If you can’t hack it, get out. The good news is I’ve saved myself a cab fare.”
