A seven-year-old boy has been critically injured after an accident on the school run.The incident happened at around 8.09 am at Sherborn Crescent in the Canford Heath area of Poole. The schoolboy was walking to school with his parents at the time of the collision. He has been taken to Poole Hospital. His parents are with him and are being supported by specially trained officers.
Officers have been speaking with local schools to give reassurances to other parents and to offer support to any children who have been affected by the accident. The car involved was a silver Peugeot 107. No one else was injured.
The road has been closed at the junctions with Seatown Close, Henbury Close and Chetnole Close . Motorists are being asked to avoid the area.
