Kate and William, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are the proud parents of two children Prince George, aged three, and Princess Charlotte, two, but when William’s grandfather Prince Philip retires from public life this autumn, the couple may not have time to extend their family and are unlikely to have any more children, according to a royal family source.

The couple are prepared to take on more royal duties from the Duke of Edinburgh when he steps down and their busy schedule will mean the chances of them having more children is slim, a source close to the Cambridge family says.

Speaking to the Sunday Express, the insider said: “I would be very surprised if they have a third child. They have got a boy and a girl – there is a sense that their family is now complete and they are moving onto the next chapter in their lives.”
