Riot Police Scrambled After Gang Spotted With MACHETES And Axe In London Park

Riot police had to be called to a London park after a party got out of hand. Some 200 revellers gathered at Thornton Heath recreation ground in south London for a party. But it soon turned into chaos after a gang of people were spotted with machetes and another with an axe.

Police cars were seen lining a road as officers in helmets and shields descended on the scene. As they made their way to the park, they entered into a tense stand-off with the mob, who refused to leave. Some threw missiles at the police while a helicopter hovered overhead.

One woman was arrested because she was found with an axe and Class B drugs. Two men were also arrested for possession of Class B drugs, and a fourth person was arrested for refusing to leave when ordered to by police. Four knives were later discovered in the park.
