Residents Flee After Fire Breaks Out In High-Rise Block Of Flats

Fifteen residents had to flee from a high-rise flat in Glasgow after a fire broke out.

Emergency services were called to the 24-storey Cheviot Court building at 5.50am on Saturday morning. Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed one man, 27, was treated for concussion at the scene.

The fire and subsequent evacuation comes amidst nationwide fears about the safety of high-rise blocks in the wake of the Grenfell Tower tragedy in London which has left at least 58 people dead.
