Powell was found guilty of a “premeditated and planned” attack

The 35 year-old attacker committed a “premeditated and planned” attack on a woman who had suffered a heartbreaking miscarriage only a fortnight before.

Vaughan Powell, who is from the Fairwater area of Cardiff, used the woman’s bathroom after the attack and then showed her a sick video he had made of the attack while sat crying on her own bed.

Powell, who has previous convictions for sexual offences, including some crimes against children, was jailed for nine years. He will have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life and has been banned from working with children.

His victim said she was “elated” by the verdict.
