Police released CCTV footage of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the theft of a poppy charity collection box.
On November 1 police were called at 8:30am to McDonalds, Market Square, Bromley following a report that a poppy collection box had been stolen.
Police Constable Vlad Balog, the investigating officer from Bromley said: “At a time when we wear a poppy and think of those who gave their lives for us and our country, it is appalling to see such a selfish act. We are keen to identify the man in the CCTV footage so that we can speak to him about the incident. We would also urge anyone who witnessed the incident to contact us.
CCTV from within the restaurant caught the moment the suspect untied the chain of the collection box, put it under his coat and then left the restaurant. The suspect is described as a medium build white man in his early 40s wearing a brown cap, beige coat, black trousers and black shoes.
