Detectives say they are hunting a “brutal” killer after a 26-year-old man was fatally stabbed on a High Street last night. West Midlands Police have today launched a murder inquiry after the victim was found near shops and a children’s play area on Aldridge High Street just before midnight.
The 26-year-old was declared dead at the scene. Forensic tents have been erected in the street and police officers have blocked access to a nearby park as investigators comb the scene. Police confirmed no arrests have been made.
Detective Inspector Jim Munro said: “At present there is no clear motive for this attack and I would ask anyone who witnessed or has any information about what happened to come forward as a matter of urgency. A young man has lost his life in brutal circumstances and someone will have knowledge of who has done this.”
