A house was devastated by an incredible car accident that saw a vehicle somersault off the road and flipping over until it collided with a house.

Although the damage to the Sutton Coldfield house was extensive, the female motorist incredibly managed to escape serious injury in the smash.

After last night’s accident at 10.30pm, the emergency services were quickly on the scene and spent an hour working to free the driver and make the property safe.

West Midlands Fire Service tweeted a picture of the accident and a spokesman said: “Both the homeowner and driver were lucky to escape this incident in Sutton Coldfield with minor injuries.”

And the police also issued a statement: “We were called by the ambulance service to Thorn Hill Road at around 10.30pm last night following reports of a car in collision with a house. Officers dealt with the collision and it is believed that there were minor injuries caused to the driver. The driver was spoken to at the scene and enquiries into the circumstances around the collision continue.”
