An elderly man has died following a collision outside a railway station. A Metropolitan Police spokeswoman confirmed the man had died after being hit by a vehicle in Tottenham High Road, in London. Tottenham High Road was fully closed between Seven Sisters Road and St Ann’s Road.
She said: “A man in his 70s had been in collision with a vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Although officers believe they know the identity of the deceased, we await formal identification. Enquiries are underway to trace next of kin.
“The driver of the vehicle failed to stop.” A 36-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of failing to stop at the scene of an accident and causing death by dangerous driving, she added. The spokeswoman continued: “He was taken to a north London police station where he remains.” Another man is also being questioned in connection with the investigation.
