Paddington Station Shut Down As Police Swoop On “Suspicious Item”

Parts of Paddington station have been closed off as police investigate a “suspicious item”. British Transport Police swooped on the central London station at around 8.30am this morning.

Four platforms – 10 to 14 – and a taxi rank area were closed off while officers investigated a suspect item. BTP posted on Twitter: “Parts of Paddington are closed due to an incident. This includes platforms 10 to 14 and Taxi rank area. Please follow staffs instructions.”

Cordons were lifted just after 10am with BTP thanking commuters for their patience.
