Fresh details of the circumstances surrounding the abduction and disappearance of three girls at the weekend have emerged.

A major police hunt was launched when three girls, two eleven year-olds and a girl of thirteen, were reported missing from the Rotherham area on Saturday evening.

Police officers from across the South Yorkshire force were brought into search for the missing girls and were only stood down when the girls returned home later that night.

Police have now arrested and charged a man from the Clifton area of Rotherham. 37 year-old Vejuhadin Ghorbani, who was arrested at his home address, stands accused of causing or inciting a child under 16 to engage in sexual activity as well as child abduction. He has been remanded in custody and will appear at the magistrates’ court in Rotherham.
