A woman has been charged after the death of her two year-old son.
Kelly Emery stands accused of the manslaughter of her child as well as a charge or child cruelty after her son, Fenton Hogan, died in July last year.
Little Fenton was found collapsed at his home in Cotswold Close in Frankley near Birmingham. He later died and a post-mortem showed that the two year-old had died as a result of methadone poisoning.
Following a police investigation, Fenton’s 32 year-old mother, Kelly Emery, was arrested earlier this year in February. This week she was charged with manslaughter and child cruelty and after an appearance at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court, she was remanded her in custody. Emery is due to appear at Birmingham Crown Court on 24th September.
