A man has admitted to having sex with 100 dead women, including murder victims.
60 year-old Kenneth Douglas told a court in Ohio that he “would just get on top of them and pull my pants down” and that he was often high on drink or drugs.
Douglas worked as a mortuary attendant between 1976 and 1992 and would commit his sick crimes while working on the night shift, including the bodies of three murder victims between 1991 and 1992.
The relevant county now faces lawsuits and legal bills after it was discovered that Douglas’s supervisors were aware that he was drunk on the job and sexually abusing corpses. Douglas’s court testimony said: “If I hadn’t had anything to drink when I went into work, it wouldn’t happen; I would do crack and go in and drink and go in.”
His wife gave testimony in a deposition that she had attempted to bring Douglas’s perverted habits to the attention of his supervisor and that he would come home after his shifts smelling of sex and alcohol: “He said, ‘Whatever happens on county time and on county property is county business’.”
Douglas’s crimes were brought to light in 2008, when a sample of his semen was found on a murder victim. The killer, David Steffen, admitted killing 19 year-old Karen Range, but denied he had raped her. Despite the fact that her corpse had been sliced with a knife and nearly decapitated, Douglas admitted to having sex with her corpse.
Douglas admitted to sex with two further murder victims, including one who six months pregnant. The families of all three murder victims have sued the County following Douglas’s second conviction in 2012.
