Two young sisters who lived near the top of Grenfell Tower have miraculously been found alive in hospital, but their parents are still missing. Tazmin Belkadi, six, and sister Malek, 10, were discovered following hours of desperate searching by their family having escaped from the 20th floor of the tower.
But the youngsters’ parents Farah Hamdan and Omar Belkadi as well as their six-month-old sibling are still missing and the family continues its frantic search. Farah’s uncle Adel Chaoui said one of the youngsters is in a coma and the other is sedated due to trauma. As the family searched yesterday Farah’s dad, Rkia Hamdan, said: “We’ve been to all the hospitals and we’ve been searching all day but we still haven’t found them, we just want to know they are safe.
“They’ve got two little girls Tazmin and Malek and we’re just so upset and worried about them.” The official death toll stands at 17, but a councillor told Sky News that emergency crews “fear more than 100 people could have died” in the inferno.
