Police have said that the young man has yet to be identified, but he was found on railings in Kensington Church Walk in West London. The gruesome discovery was made this morning at approximate 6.39am near St Mary Abbot’s Church and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said: “There is nothing at this very early stage to indicate that the death is suspicious.

“Officers are at the scene and their enquires continue.”

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have a 20-room apartment in Kensington Palace, which was designed by Sir Christopher Wren and used to be the home of Princess Margaret and Lord Snowdon; Princess Margaret lived there until her death in 2002.
