Man Arrested For Attempted Murder After Mum Is Knifed Outside Primary School – School Lockdown

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a mum in her 30s was stabbed on the school run at a Merseyside primary school this morning. Police were called to Devonshire Park Primary School, Temple Road, Tranmere this morning after the mum was attacked as she walked back to her car after dropping off her kids.

She is believed to have just dropped her children off when the attack happened. The school has been evacuated and the street was on lockdown as police hunted for the culprit this morning. Merseyside Police said a 61-year-old Wirral man had been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

A statement said: “The man is in custody and will be questioned by detectives today.” Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident; they said earlier: “It is believed that the incident may have been domestic related and the offender is known to the victim.”  The school said on Twitter: “Devonshire park school will be closed until further notice.”
