A film crew claims to have discovered a “major” breakthrough in the Madeleine McCann case and the documentary-makers have said they will reveal new evidence in the “landmark television event” this weekend.
In a teaser video released on Thursday, Australia’s Channel 7’s Sunday Night claims a new line of enquiry could bring the case closer to being solved. Forensic scientist Dave Barclay will feature on the programme, calling the case “the most baffling” he’s ever looked at and journalist Rahni Sadler will also speak to the case’s lead investigator and criminal profiler.
However, Maddie’s parents, Gerry and Kate, have urged the filmmakers to hand over any leads to police. US criminal profiler Pat Brown, who recently insisted that Maddie is “dead” and that her body has been moved to a “desolate location”, will also reportedly discuss elements of the case. The documentary comes as the tenth anniversary of Madeleine’s disappearance nears.
