A knife-wielding teenager allegedly tried to stab a female police sergeant as she attempted to arrest him in north London.
PS Carroll Weeden was alone on patrol in Stoke Newington High Street, Hackney, when she came across the man robbing a member of the public for a mobile phone at knifepoint. When he ran off PS Weeden chased after and caught up with him, only for the 18-year-old to swing the knife wildly at her, police said.
The sergeant managed to dodge the attacks and arrest the teen with the help of members of the public, although did suffer bruising on her arm after being punched. The victim was unhurt but shaken. An 18-year-old was being questioned last night at an east London police station after being arrested on suspicion of GBH and robbery.
