Pop star and heart-throb Justin Bieber has been left needing surgery after he jumped off a cliff while engaging in the sport of cliff diving.
The star, who is a well-known thrill-seeker, has previously been photographed leaping from cliffs into the sea in the past, as he joins in with the dangerous craze of tombstoning. Fans were wildly tweeting warnings about the dangers last year when pictures circulated of Bieber jumping from a ledge in Kauai in Hawaii.
However, it may have been one leap too many for Bieber who has now injured his ear drum – a rather crucial part of the body for a musician – and it looks like the damage will need to be repaired surgically.
Justin Bieber used Twitter to update his fans about his injury, tweeting: “Busted my ear drum cliff diving. Doc says might need surgery now. Sucks.”
The 20 year-old later followed up with another tweet: “My ear drum might back us up a little but I’m still bringing you this new music. Much love. Damn u cliff diving!”
Justin has not yet revealed where his injury occurred or when the surgery might be scheduled, but I think it’s safe to assume he won’t be taking any flying leaps on any cliffs in the near future. His fans will be relieved as tombstone has caused at least 20 deaths in the last decade as people hurl themselves into evermore dangerous waters.
