A self-described “super stud” who boasted of his sexual prowess on the Jeremy Kyle Show attacked a grandmother so ferociously he left a knife blade embedded in her neck.
23 year-old Liam Naylor strangled, beat and stabbed a grandmother more than 40 times and stole her pension money which he used to buy a round of drinks in a pub, a McDonald’s meal and a then took a taxi home after his evening out.
Naylor stabbed Doreen Walker, 75, so hard that sliced through one of the bones in the spine, left several major arteries severed and left the blade embedded in the neck of the 5’3″ granny. The thug also punched her in the face and twisted her arm so hard it broke.
Mrs Walker’s battered and sliced body was found the following day by her son-in-law; the court heard how Naylor’s blood was found on the murder weapon and that he had burnt his bloodied clothes in an underpass.
During the attack Naylor cut his hand and police found his blood on the murder weapon and a back door handle.
Naylor’s defence was that he had acted in self-defence; the father-of-three claimed that the OAP had threatened him with a knife after he stole her money and that in the struggle at her Barnsley home she had “jumped onto” her own knife.
The jury disagreed however and Naylor, who had previously had a sexual relationship with Mrs Walker’s 17 year-old granddaughter, was unanimously found guilty of murder at Sheffield Crown Court yesterday.
Naylor is due to appear at court for sentencing today.
