I’m A Celebrity has reportedly signed up an ex-EastEnders star for a huge six-figure sum.69-year-old Larry Lamb, who played evil Archie Mitchell in the BBC soap, is set to jet off to the jungle next week after signing up for the show. A source told The Mirror: “It’s a mega coup for the show, they have wanted to get Larry for a long time and he finally agreed to it this year.” They added that he was sure to be a “massive hit” as he is “very popular with the ladies”.
The actor was said to have joined the show after being “enthralled” by Lady C on last year’s I’m A Celeb and that he “can’t wait to give it a go” as he is a “big fan”. In an interview with the Scotsman in 2009, Lady C admitted that she had dated the actor in 1975 after she had split from her husband and called him a “darling”.
Rumoured to be joining him in Oz are Scarlett Moffatt, Carol Vorderman, Tom Fletcher, Danny Baker, Conrad Murray, Lisa Snowdon, Robbie Savage and Louis Smith. Craig Charles, Kate Wright, Ryan Lochte, Helen Lederer and Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini have also been touted as possible jungle candidates.
Reports suggest the unlucky contestants will have to chow down on crocodile vagina among other unsavoury morsels. Crewmembers are also believed to be bringing in around 500 rats to scare the living daylights out of the stars.
