Detectives have released CCTV images after a three-year-old girl was picked up and carried away from her mum in a Morrisons supermarket. The girl was scooped up by a man on a travelator in the supermarket in Blackburn, Lancashire, at around 3pm yesterday afternoon.
The girl’s mum was pushing a pram and also walking with the child’s five-year-old sister when the horror unfolded. The man initially carried her down the travelator towards the car park but then put her down and she ran back to her mum. He then left the store and officers are now trying to trace him.
Lancashire Police have released CCTV images of a man they want to speak to in connection with the incident. Police say they are keen to speak to the man, who is believed to have been in the area at the time, to rule him out of their enquiries.The man is described as Asian, mid 30s, 5ft 6ins to 5ft 8ins, with black hair that was short at the back and sides but thick and coarse on top. He had stubble on his face and was wearing blue jeans and a bomber jacket that was mostly black but had some blue patches around the shoulder and chest.
