Silent Witness actress Liz Carr has been stabbed in the head by a man wielding two pairs of scissors in the street. The man attacked wheelchair user Liz, 45, in London as her carer tried to fend him off. The actress, who plays scientist Clarissa Mullery, is recovering from a her wounds after she was set upon a near Euston Station.
A friend said: “It was very frightening for Liz. She was being pushed in her wheelchair when this young man armed with two pairs of scissors suddenly headed towards her. He followed them and began lashing out and stabbed Liz in the head. There was blood everywhere but she was very lucky that the wound grazed her head and she was not more seriously injured.”
Liz was attacked in London’s busy Euston Road near Euston Station just before 8.30pm on Thursday. Both women screamed for help as the man rushed towards them waving the scissors. A suspect in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of GBH. A police doctor ruled he was unfit to be interviewed and he has since been sectioned under the Mental Health Act.
