Eight people have been injured as a car ploughed into a crowd of mourners at a funeral – including children. Police said multiple people were injured when the vehicle crashed into a crowd attending a funeral cemetery in Columbia, South Carolina.
Mourners were attending a service at the Greenlawn Cemetery when the car driven by an “elderly man” hit the group. Police are now investigating the incident – and are not ruling out the possibility it was intentional.
Deputy Police Chief Melron Kelly said: “We cannot tell if there’s initial intent. We will try to get information from him shortly.” He added the driver will be questioned after he receives medical care. All the wounded were taken to hospital.
