A young British woman has plunged to her death from her ninth-floor hotel in Benidorm. Danielle Hall, 21 – believed to be from Newcastle – is reported to have died on impact in the fall from her balcony. She is understood to have just returned to the three-star Bermudas apartment hotel from a night out in the famous Costa Blanca resort with her 23-year-old boyfriend.
Local reports said both had been drinking heavily and Danielle lost her balance and went over the balcony railing at around 2am on Sunday morning. A relative – understood to be her grandmother – was staying in another room at the time of the tragedy. They were all booked to stay at the hotel for a week’s vacation.
Danielle fell more than 80 feet before landing on a small first-floor roof. Police and paramedics rushed to the scene but she was pronounced dead at the scene. An investigation has been launched into Danielle’s death, which is being carried out by police under the supervision of a local judge. At the moment it is being treated as a freak accident.
A source said: “The hotel staff are really shaken up about what’s happened … The tourist who was staying on the first floor and saw the Brit’s body fall outside her window hasn’t been able to sleep since it happened.”
