A primary school teacher who was ‘never seen without a smile on her face’ has been found dead in a suspected murder at her home. Julie Parkin, 39, was discovered at the house in Kirkwall Close, Sunderland, in the early hours of yesterday morning.
Mrs Parkin’s school West Boldon Primary School sent a heartbreaking letter to parents informing them of the tragedy. It said: “The school has experienced the sudden death of one of our teachers, Mrs Parkin. We are deeply saddened by her death. All of the staff are available to help your child cope with the tragedy.”Parents later paid tribute to the teacher on Facebook; one said: “Amazing teacher to my son! Never saw her without a smile on her face! Such a lovely woman. Heartbreaking!” Another wrote that she would be a “huge miss to all our children”. Police confirmed a man has been arrested.
