Twenty-one children were injured when an amusement park ride collapsed. The carousel suddenly plunged down the shaft it was suspended around as onlookers looked on in horror. The victims were taken to hospital following the incident at the Sky Land Club in the West Bank city of Ramallah in Palestine on Friday.
The city’s governor, Laila Ghannam, said an inquiry will be held by the Public Prosecutor’s Office and everyone responsible will be held accountable. She added the necessary measures will be taken to ensure such an incident doesn’t happen again. The ride and a section of the park remain closed.
Palestinian police confirmed all those involved were taken to hospital but that none was seriously injured.
