So who will be watching the wedding of the year? Well, Bono has been invited. Presumably he won’t be forcing U2’s latest album on the couple as a wedding present.

Hollywood actress Ellen Barkin is also on the guest list. George’s “Oceans Thirteen” co-star recently threw a bridal shower for Amal at her home.

Academy Award winner, Sandra Bullock will also be there, along with her son Louis, whom she adopted four years ago. Matt Damon and his wife Luciana Barroso are also invited as is Hollywood A-lister Julia Roberts. She is likely to attend with her husband Danny Moder and it will mark a public appearance for the actress, who has had a quieter year than usual, after losing her half-sister Nancy Motes in February in an apparent drug overdose.

And newlyweds themselves, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have also received invitations. Since they managed to keep their big day under wraps, they may well have some top tips to share!

It has also been reported that singer-songwriter Lana Del Rey is set to perform at the ceremony, but the choice of song has not yet been revealed.

The wedding itself is set to be three days of festivities, culminating in the wedding ceremony at Ca’Farsetti. This is a 14th Century palace located on the Grand Canal in Venice. The rumours are that guests will be staying at the luxurious Hotel Aman, Venice’s new seven-star hotel.

And what about the dress? Well, the smart money is on Oscar de la Renta, but there still might be surprises as Amal was spotted leaving Alexander McQueen’s studio recently.
