Great British Bake Off shocked fans this evening. Paul Hollywood announced that it was Tudor Week – a first ever for the series – and set the aspiring bakers the challenge of making a show-stopper to suit the unusual theme. Andrew Smyth innocently attempted to make a cake intricately decorated with knights.
However, some viewers pointed out that his edible soldiers in shining armour looked a little too excited for a family TV programme. Unsurprisingly, they were quick to comment on the filthy spectacle via Twitter after the show finished. “First recorded picture of a cake with an STD. #GBBO,” wrote one. Another then tweeted: “Erotic cake time! Well done for spicing up #GBBO Andrew!”
Moments later, a different viewer commented: “Is it just me or do Andrews “Jousting Poles” look a bit rude in that position #GBBO.” Shortly afterwards, another posted: “Hang on a moment! Those jousting boyos of Andrew’s.. what is it they handle in their marzipan grip?! Tut. Rude. #GBBO.”Even judges Paul and Mary Berry giggled after catching sight of the VERY happy edible knight. Despite his questionable cake decorating skills, Andrew made it through to the semi-finals tonight as Benjamina Ebueh was sent home.
