As the nation shed a tear over the final episode of The Great British Bake Off on BBC on Wednesday night, the Beeb had a trick up its sleeve…1mmBecause Wednesday’s episode WON’T be the last ever episode on the network!

Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry and Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins will ALL be back for a Christmas special of the popular baking show this Christmas – in fact, they will be back for TWO Christmas specials.

The two episodes over Christmas, giving us two more chances to watch our beloved judges complain about soggy bottoms and the show’s presenters make as many Christmas-themed baking innuendos as they can in two hours.

Taking to Twitter after the end of the episode on Wednesday, the BBC Bake Off Twitter account confirmed that the show – which from 2017 will air on Channel 4 without Mary, Mel, or Sue – will be back, tweeting: ‘Deck the tent with bakes of holly! Paul, Mary, Mel and Sue will return to BBC One for two special new episodes of #GBBO this Christmas.’
