A teenager shot her own mother in the head and then torched the family home in a bid to conceal her crime, police claim. Anna Schroeder, 15, roped in her friend Rachel Helm, also 15, to help her clean up after gunning down her mother Peggy, 53, according to investigators.
On Thursday she allegedly waited for her mother to get back to her home in Morrison, Illinois, after work and shot her in the head with a .38 revolver, reports local news. Chillingly, Anna posted a message to her mom on Peggy’s Facebook page: “I don’t even know if you can see me right now but if you can I just want you to know you were my best friend.
“There were so many things I wanted to say and do with you. I wasn’t always the best daughter and I’m so sorry. I love you so much mom I just want you to know and I’ll never forget you.” According to testimony from sheriff’s Detective David Molina, Anna told her mother to put a towel over her face and shot her in the forehead. Anna was picked up at her dad’s house and later confessed everything.
