A four-year-old boy has died following an incident at a farm in County Fermanagh, Ireland. Police were called to an area of farmland in the Maguiresbridge area at around 8.30pm last night. The child was pronounced dead at the scene and the Health and Safety Executive (HSENI) is investigating, Belfast Live reports.
Police Service of Northern Ireland Inspector Glen Latimer said: “The child was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Local PSNI will work closely with the Health and Safety Executive as they investigate the circumstances.”
Regional media are reporting that the boy was killed in an ‘farm machinery’ incident. A spokesperson for the HSENI said: “The HSENI is aware of a fatality on a farm in the Maguiresbridge area and is investigating. Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with the family at this most difficult time.”
