Smouldering ashes of a £1.5million mansion was all that was left after a suspected arson attack.Firemen battled in vain to save the luxury, five-bed new build owned by millionaire Daniel Spiller, 34. He is understood to have come home to find the glass-fronted pad – which boasted a cinema – up in flames. No-one was hurt in the incident.
His £200,000 Ferrari 458 Spyder was believed to have been saved because the fire didn’t spread to the triple garage. Police are hunting the firebugs who are believed to have targeted it on Saturday night near Aylesford, Kent.
Devastated ex-footballer Daniel – who used to play for Gillingham and Millwall – became a self-made millionaire away from the game. He works as an independent distributor for nutrition firm Herbalife International and had lived there for a year.
